Keep your profile and recruiting notes within reach
A persistent dashboard bar keeps profile controls, personal scratch notes, linked Notes, and issue reporting available without crowding the main navigation.
A consistent home for personal controls
Your profile now lives at the left edge of a persistent bottom bar instead of the sidebar. Appearance, account settings, test-account switching when available, and sign out remain together in the same profile menu.
My Notes and Shortcuts now sit together at the center of the bar, Report issue sits at the right edge, and the profile menu remains on the left. The earlier linked Notes control is temporarily hidden while its implementation remains available for a later return. This redesign removes the dashboard sidebar so the working canvas can use the full width; replacement navigation will be introduced progressively as the new shell takes shape.
The main dashboard content is centered within a responsive frame that grows with the window and stops at 1,200 pixels. Smaller screens use stepped side gutters so list controls and records keep useful breathing room without forcing a desktop-width canvas.
That working area now appears as one contained surface with a quiet border and soft shadow against the surrounding app background. A centered RecruitIQ wordmark, shown without its icon, anchors the space above the content and links back to the dashboard, with Notifications on the same row. The content surface stays neutral white in light mode and black in dark mode, while the surrounding canvas can retain the selected theme color. Page scrolling now stays at the outer edge of the app instead of placing a scrollbar inside the centered surface. The dashboard and Candidates V2 use a focused medium-width surface, while detail-heavy pages retain the wider workspace. RecruitIQ also uses the locally hosted Graphik Regular typeface across the product while preserving each interface element’s existing size and hierarchy.
Keep a private browser scratchpad
Choose My Notes to smoothly lift a focused writing surface over the current working area and return it toward the bottom bar when closing. Text saves automatically in the current browser for the signed-in user, and the lower-right status shows when the latest local save finished. Closing the surface does not clear it.
My Notes is intentionally local-only. It is not shared with teammates, attached to recruiting records, or transferred to another browser or device. Existing linked-note data and implementation remain preserved while that bottom-bar control is hidden.
Jump to core lists with Shortcuts
Open Shortcuts beside My Notes to see the available navigation keys in a compact bottom-bar popover. Shift + 1 opens Candidates V2, and Shift + 2 opens Jobs.
Shortcuts do not fire while typing in an input, text area, select control, or editable region, so normal writing remains uninterrupted.
Report an issue with useful context attached
Choose Report issue to describe a problem without leaving the page. RecruitIQ attaches the current page and resolves the signed-in person from authenticated account data before storing the report, so the product team can find and review submitted issues later.
The report includes the description, page, reporter, organization when available, submission time, and browser information. It does not include the contents of My Notes.
Use Attach files to include PDFs, Word documents, or PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WebP images that help explain the problem. You can review and remove files before submitting, with up to five files and a combined 3 MB limit. Only attach information you intend to share with the product team.
Reports and selected files are emailed to the product team. If email submission cannot be confirmed, the form keeps your draft and attachments and asks you to retry; it does not show a success message. Files are delivered as email attachments, not published as public links.
Write without leaving the current page
Authenticated recruiting-team pages now include Notes in the persistent bottom bar. Open it, write what you learned, and save without navigating away from the candidate, job, company, or tool you are using.
The composer can be dragged by its title bar and returned to the corner with Snap back. Minimize keeps the draft available, and an unfinished draft also survives navigation and a browser refresh for the signed-in user.
Keep each note connected to the right records
Opening Notes from a candidate, job, or company automatically attaches that record. Talent Inbox and WhatsApp attach the candidate currently selected for preview. Automatic links can be removed before saving; manual record search is not included in this first release.
Widen the composer to see the newest related notes on the left. The writing area stays pinned to the same right edge, so reviewing prior context does not interrupt typing.
Shared context with organization boundaries
Saved notes record their author and are visible only through the authenticated RecruitIQ organization that owns them. RecruitIQ validates every linked record before saving, so a candidate, job, or company from another organization cannot be attached or returned.
Candidate profiles now include a Notes tab with the full linked-note list. The History card records the lightweight activity line “Added a note by [team member],” and the resume preview shows the same notes. Add note from that preview opens the global composer already linked to the candidate, so note creation still follows one path without creating extra copies.
Existing notes already saved on candidate profiles remain readable alongside newly captured linked notes. There is no destructive migration of earlier candidate history.
A focused first version
This release is for notes only. It does not add tasks, due dates, assignees, reminders, notifications, rich text, attachments, mentions, or a Notes module in the sidebar.
Tasks will remain separate until RecruitIQ can connect them cleanly with the existing candidate reminder workflow and a dedicated daily work surface.
