Compare new Talent Inbox resumes before replacing a candidate file

See resume decisions from Candidates, preview the current and incoming files, and keep every confirmed replacement reversible and searchable.

Open resume decisions from Candidates

Resume and duplicate reviews remain available from Candidates through More actions while the dedicated top-right Resume reviews shortcut is temporarily hidden. The review queue and unresolved Talent Inbox identity decisions are unchanged.

A dedicated New resumes from Talent Inbox section identifies each incoming attachment, the possible existing candidate, and when the review arrived. Historical and non-email duplicate reviews remain available separately on the same page.

Preview the old and new files before deciding

Each Talent Inbox decision shows the saved current resume beside the incoming resume. Preview either file in the same drawer, then switch between Current and New from Talent Inbox without leaving the review.

Resume content fades into place when it is ready. Fast previews no longer flash an unnecessary loading indicator; a spinner appears only when loading takes more than two seconds. Legacy DOC files use a real Word text extractor for a cleaner preview, while the original file remains available to download.

Keep confirmed replacements reversible

Choose Same person — replace resume when both files belong to the same candidate. RecruitIQ preserves the prior active file in Resume History, makes the incoming file active, and refreshes the candidate search and profile-processing paths.

Choose Different person — create separately when the attachment belongs to someone else, or Leave unresolved when more evidence is needed. An unresolved review never replaces the existing candidate automatically.

Resume replacements from a candidate profile require an authorized signed-in team member. New replacement files are private, and previews and downloads check file ownership. If an older file cannot be verified, access is blocked for review rather than assigning it to your organization automatically. Editing profile details does not change resume file references or access tokens.

Search accepted image resumes without retry loops

Accepted JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP resumes continue through OCR and are saved as PDFs with an invisible text layer before entering organization-scoped resume search. Common phone-camera JPEG containers are read from their first image frame.

If an image cannot be decoded, read, or converted, Talent Inbox records one permanent skip reason and continues to later mail instead of retrying that attachment indefinitely. Temporary downstream storage, indexing, and service failures remain retryable.
