Talent Inbox can now read image resumes
Connected Gmail and Outlook inboxes can evaluate common image attachments as resumes and add accepted candidates to resume search.
Photos and screenshots can enter the same intake flow
Talent Inbox now supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP attachments in addition to PDF, DOC, and DOCX resumes. This helps when a candidate sends a phone photo, scan, or screenshot instead of a document file.
RecruitIQ reads the image, checks that its contents look like a resume, and rejects unrelated images before creating a candidate. Inline email logos and signature graphics remain excluded.
Image resumes remain searchable
An accepted image is saved as a PDF with a searchable text layer. The candidate then follows the normal profile-generation and organization-scoped resume-index flow, so recruiters can find the resume by its extracted experience, education, skills, and contact details.
The original attachment name remains recorded in Talent Inbox while the candidate receives the PDF version used for previewing, downloading, and search.
Safety boundaries
Image reading runs only for supported, non-inline attachments and applies file-size and image-dimension limits. A blank, unreadable, or non-resume image does not create a candidate.
- Supported image formats are JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP.
- HEIC images, ZIP archives, and inline signature images are not included in this release.
- Messages with a completed attachment audit remain protected by Talent Inbox duplicate checks. Older single-file intake records may be checked once more so a later attachment in the same email is not missed.
