Choose whether public job applications require a resume

Public job boards can now make resumes optional or required while keeping the application experience and server validation in sync.

One setting for every public job application

Organization owners can open Settings, choose Public Job Board, and use Require a resume to apply to control whether candidates must attach a resume before submitting a job application.

The live preview immediately shows the selected policy. Save changes to publish it across the organization's public board and job application pages.

Optional stays the default

Existing public boards continue to accept job applications without a resume unless an owner enables the requirement. When resumes are optional, candidates can still attach one if it helps explain their experience.

When the requirement is enabled, the application identifies the resume as required, explains why submission is blocked when it is missing, and verifies the upload before accepting the application.

External recruiter submissions remain protected

External recruiter candidate submissions always require a resume, regardless of the public-board setting. This preserves the existing partner submission contract while letting each organization choose the right level of friction for direct applicants.

The separate general resume submission link remains available from the public board for candidates who want to introduce themselves without applying to a specific open role.
