Duplicate detection. Before creating a new candidate record, the extension checks your existing database for matches. If the candidate already exists—whether they applied six months ago or were sourced by another recruiter last week—you'll see their full history, including past interactions, assessments, and any notes. This prevents duplicate records (a major ATS hygiene issue) and gives you instant context for your outreach. The overlay is non-intrusive—it doesn't interfere with LinkedIn's native functionality and can be collapsed when you don't need it.

Search results enrichment. When you're running a LinkedIn Recruiter search, the extension adds indicators next to each result showing whether that person is already in your RecruitIQ database and their top match score. This saves enormous time by letting you skip candidates you've already engaged and prioritize new discoveries that match your open roles.

Bulk capture from search results. Found a promising search that returned 50 relevant profiles? Rather than clicking into each one individually, you can select multiple results and capture them all in a single batch. The extension queues the captures, extracts profile data, runs duplicate checks, and adds new candidates to your pipeline—all while you continue browsing. You'll receive a summary notification when the batch is complete, showing how many were new additions versus existing records.

InMail tracking. When you send an InMail to a candidate, the extension can log that touchpoint in RecruitIQ automatically. This creates a complete communication history across channels, so you never accidentally send a duplicate message and your team has full visibility into who has been contacted and when.

Getting started in five minutes

Setting up the RecruitIQ Chrome extension is straightforward. Here's the step-by-step process.

Step 1: Install from the Chrome Web Store. Search for “RecruitIQ” in the Chrome Web Store or use the direct link from your RecruitIQ dashboard. Click “Add to Chrome” and confirm the permissions. The extension requires access to read page content on the sites you visit (to extract profile data) and to communicate with RecruitIQ's servers (to check your database and sync records).

Step 2: Log in. Click the RecruitIQ icon in your Chrome toolbar and log in with your existing RecruitIQ credentials. If your organization uses single sign-on, you'll be redirected to your SSO provider. Once authenticated, the extension stays logged in until you explicitly sign out.

Step 3: Configure your preferences. In the extension settings, choose which sites you want the overlay to appear on (LinkedIn is enabled by default), set your default candidate tags, and select which team or recruiter account new captures should be associated with. You can also configure notification preferences—whether to show alerts for duplicate candidates, new matches, and batch completion.

Step 4: Pin the extension. For fastest access, pin the RecruitIQ icon to your Chrome toolbar by clicking the puzzle piece icon and selecting the pin next to RecruitIQ. This keeps it visible and one click away at all times.

Leverage the “Similar Candidates” feature. When you find a great candidate, click “Find Similar” in the extension panel. RecruitIQ will search your existing database for candidates with comparable skills, experience, and background. Use batch capture strategically. Batch capture is most effective when you've refined your LinkedIn search to a tight set of criteria. Run your boolean search, verify that the first page of results is highly relevant, then batch-capture the full result set. This approach builds your database quickly with targeted, high-quality profiles rather than broad, unfocused captures.

Review your capture analytics. The extension tracks how many profiles you capture per session, your duplicate rate (which indicates how saturated your database is for a given search), and your match rate (how often captured profiles match open reqs). Use these metrics to refine your sourcing strategy—if your duplicate rate exceeds 40 percent, it's time to explore new search criteria or new sourcing channels.
